Web Design & SEO for Morris County Businesses

Morris County has a lot of small businesses for its size. The Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns for 2023 count 16,518 business establishments in the county, and 15,496 of them employ fewer than 50 people. Against a 2025 population of 524,251, that is about 30 small establishments per 1,000 residents, the third-highest rate of New Jersey’s 21 counties, behind only Cape May and Bergen.

What digital marketing looks like for Morris County businesses

What sets Morris apart is the weight of professional services. Of the five industry groups we focus on, professional, scientific and technical services (NAICS 541) is the largest by far: 2,409 establishments, about 40% of the 6,003 businesses in those groups. These are accountants, attorneys, engineers, IT consultants, architects and advisors, many of them small firms in Morristown, Parsippany, Florham Park and Madison. For them, the website does the first round of selling: a prospective client reads it, compares it to two other firms, and decides whether to call.

The rest of the mix is local-search business:

  • Health care practices (NAICS 621): 1,376 establishments: physicians, dentists, chiropractors, therapists and other outpatient practices.
  • Specialty trade contractors (NAICS 238): 1,075 establishments: roofers, electricians, plumbers, HVAC and remodeling crews.
  • Personal services (NAICS 812): 731 establishments: salons, spas, fitness and wellness studios, pet care.
  • Repair and maintenance (NAICS 811): 412 establishments: auto repair, equipment and appliance service.

Morris is also two different markets. The eastern side, along I-287, I-80 and Route 10, is dense, with office parks and busy town centers. The western townships, such as Chester, Mendham, Washington Township and Mount Olive, are more spread out, and a contractor or wellness practice there draws customers from a wide radius. A Google Business Profile that works in Morristown, where searchers are a few blocks away, is set up differently from one for a business in Chester serving customers across the western townships.

The search results for web design are thin here. When we ran one test search for “web design Morris County NJ” in October 2026, only one of the ten results pointed to an agency based in the county. The rest were mostly directories, county government pages, a national location page and an agency from Passaic County. That tells us Morris County business owners are not finding much specific help when they look, which is part of why this page exists.

Every AJD service, one team

AJD handles the website, search and reporting as one plan, so the pieces work together:

  • Website Development: WordPress and Elementor sites built mobile-first, with clear service pages, fast load times and call, booking and contact paths where visitors need them.
  • Website Maintenance & Care Plans: safe updates, daily off-site backups, security scans, uptime monitoring and a monthly report of the work done.
  • Search Engine Optimization: technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, schema, content structure and internal linking, built into the site rather than added later.
  • Google Business Profile & Local SEO: setup and verification, categories and service areas, posts, a review request and reply process, and recovery for suspended or duplicate profiles.
  • Social Media & Content: service pages, articles and posts written for the questions your clients and customers ask.
  • Analytics & Reporting: GA4 and Search Console set up correctly, with calls, forms and bookings tracked as conversions.
  • Business Consultation & Marketing: a plain-English review of what the numbers say and what to do next.

Problems Morris County businesses bring us

These are the problems we see most often in the kinds of businesses that make up Morris County’s economy.

“Our website doesn’t explain what we actually do.” Professional firms often have a single services page with a list of practice areas and nothing under them. A prospective client comparing three firms can’t tell which one handles their problem. We build one page per service, written for the questions clients ask before they call, with structured data so Google can understand each one.

“We’re in western Morris, and Google keeps showing customers businesses in Morristown and Parsippany.” In the more spread-out townships, the business that ranks is often the one closer to the searcher, not the one that serves them. We set the Google Business Profile up correctly for how you work, as a storefront or a service-area business, list the towns you actually serve, and back it up with location and service content on your website.

“Our practice has a Google listing, but the hours, categories or photos are wrong.” Health care and wellness practices often inherit a profile someone created years ago, sometimes duplicated. We audit it, clean up duplicates, fix categories and information, and build a simple process for asking for and replying to reviews.

“The site breaks every time something updates.” WordPress, themes and plugins release updates constantly. A site that is never maintained eventually breaks, slows down or gets hacked. Our care plans handle updates, backups and security every month, and you get a report that says what was done.

“We get leads, but we have no idea where they come from.” Many firms have GA4 installed with nothing set up as a conversion. We fix the tracking so calls, form submissions and bookings are counted by source, then report on those numbers instead of raw traffic.

How an engagement works

Every engagement follows the same four steps, whether it starts with a new site or with one problem.

  1. Discover. A free discovery call. We review your goals, your current website, your Google Business Profile, your search visibility and the businesses you compete with in your part of the county.
  2. Plan. We put the highest-impact work in order: what to fix first, what to build, what to track, and what it costs. Final scope and pricing are confirmed here, in writing, before work starts.
  3. Build or fix. We build the new site, repair the existing one, clean up the profile or fix the tracking, with clear updates as we go.
  4. Care and measure. After launch, the care plan keeps the site updated, backed up and monitored, and we report on calls, forms, bookings and search performance so the next decision is based on data.

Work we already do in Morris County

Morris County is not new ground for us:

  • A qigong and wellness practice we work with teaches classes in Chester, and its Google Business Profile serves Chester alongside its Somerset County home.
  • A red light therapy practice in Chester is one of the businesses we have built for.

Most of our other New Jersey clients are next door in Somerset County, including wellness, counseling and nutrition practices, so the western half of Morris is close to home for us. The work these businesses need (clear service pages, an accurate Google Business Profile, a site that stays updated, and reporting that shows where calls come from) is the same work we offer every Morris County business. FAQ

Morris County FAQ

Straight answers to what Morris County business owners ask us most.

No. AJD is based in New Jersey and works with businesses across the state and nationwide, including clients in Chester and Succasunna. Discovery calls, reviews and reporting meetings happen by phone or video. Most messages get a reply within 24 hours.

Yes, but it looks different than it does for a restaurant or a contractor. Clients still search by service and place, and they check your Google Business Profile and reviews before calling. The bigger lever is usually the website: one clear page per service, written for the questions clients ask, with tracking that shows which pages produce inquiries.

A Google Business Profile ranks mostly near its location, so a profile alone won’t cover a wide area. For a service-area business, we hide the address if customers don’t visit you, list the towns you actually serve, and build website pages for the services and areas you cover. That combination gives Google more to work with than the profile alone.

Care plans cover WordPress, theme and plugin updates, daily off-site backups, security and malware scans, uptime and performance monitoring. Plans with reporting include a monthly summary of the work done plus a review of your GA4 and Search Console data, with practical next steps. Final scope is confirmed during the discovery call.

A starter website typically takes 2–3 weeks. Larger or e-commerce builds generally take 4–6 weeks. You get a timeline after the discovery call, before any work starts.
